Yes. ReturnMePlz makes stick-on name labels with a QR code, for school uniform, water bottles, lunchboxes and anything else you don't want to lose. Add a name when you order if you like. Anyone who finds the item can scan the label and message you, and there's no phone number or address on it.
No – and that's deliberate. There's no GPS, no batteries and no location tracking. ReturnMePlz is about recovery, not surveillance: it simply gives an honest finder a way to reach you.
Yes. Your name, phone number and email are never printed on the tag. A finder sees your item's name and a simple way to send you a message – you decide what to share from there.
No. You activate your tag on our website in seconds, and finders use nothing more than their phone camera. No downloads, no accounts for finders.
Because it isn't gone, only mislaid. A replacement is a different object – the one you lost is the one you actually had. Reunited, not replaced.
A lost property box only works if you go looking, and often you don't know where you lost something. With a ReturnMePlz label, whoever finds it can message you straight away, whether it turns up at school, on the bus or in the park. You find out it's been found, and you agree together how to get it back.
If you handle lost property at a nursery, school, gym, office or venue, a labelled item no longer has to wait in a box. Scan the label with your phone, send the owner a quick message, and agree how they'll collect it. There's nothing to log, no one to chase and no cost to you. If things go quiet, we send a reminder so the item doesn't get stuck.
A name label tells someone whose it is, but it only helps if they know you or can find you. Away from school, a name on its own is rarely a way home. A ReturnMePlz label gives anyone, anywhere, a private way to message you, with no phone number or address on the item. And if you'd like a name on it too, you can add one.
That gives nurseries and schools the best of both. With a name on the label, staff can see at a glance whose it is. And if something has been sitting in lost property for a while, they can scan it and message you directly. They no longer have to remember they spotted your child's jumper in the box and then remember to tell you.
Some QR stickers show your phone number or email when they're scanned, or print them on the label. Ours don't. The finder messages you through ReturnMePlz, and neither of you sees the other's contact details unless you choose to share them. We then guide you both through the return, step by step: meeting up, posting it, or leaving it somewhere safe, with the important steps confirmed by both of you. No subscription, and no charge when someone scans.
A tracker tells you where something is. ReturnMePlz tells you someone has found it, and helps them give it back. There's no battery to charge and nothing to pair, and the labels are small enough for a water bottle or a pencil case, so you can label everything, not just your children's clothing. It's recovery, not tracking.
The Family Pack has 16 labels in three sizes: 2 large rounds, 6 small rounds and 8 rectangles, so there's a size for everything from a lunchbox to a water bottle. If you need more of one size, there are single-size sheets too: 6 large rounds, 18 small rounds or 18 rectangles. Every sheet comes with its own activation card.
Yes. Choose a design and add a name when you order, for £1 per sheet. A name helps nursery and school staff see whose something is at a glance, and the QR code still lets anyone message you privately.
Prices are shown on each product in our shop. You pay once for your labels and that's it: no subscription, and no charge when someone scans one.
We post every sheet by Royal Mail 1st Class, each in its own envelope with its own activation card. We aim to dispatch within 2 working days and to deliver within 3 to 5 working days of dispatch.
We currently deliver to UK addresses only.
For sheets without a name, you have 14 days from receiving your order to change your mind. Sheets printed with a name are made just for you, so they can't be returned unless something is wrong with them. If anything arrives faulty or misprinted, we'll always put it right. Our Returns and Cancellations page has the details.
It takes seconds. Scan the activation card in your pack to set up all its labels at once, or scan any single label to set up just that one. Give the item a name, add your email, and that's it.
Just about anything you'd hate to lose: water bottles, lunchboxes, coats and school uniform, bags, laptops, phones and sports kit. They stick firmly to hard surfaces and to fabric.
No. They're stick-on labels, so there's no ironing or sewing. Press them firmly onto the label at the back of the neck or straight onto woven fabric. Then leave them for 36 hours before they go in the wash.
On clothing, the label at the back of the neck is a good spot. We've also tested labels stuck straight onto woven fabric, and they hold well there too. On fabric, press harder than feels necessary: you're pushing the adhesive down into the fibres and the gaps in the weave. Press firmly, smooth it outwards, then run your fingernail over the label from the centre outwards in every direction. Leave it for 36 hours before it goes in the wash, so the bond has time to set.
They're weatherproof. Our labels are made from a specially designed durable material that's built for life outdoors, in school bags and at the kitchen sink, and they're designed to stay on through the dishwasher and the washing machine. They aren't made to be left underwater for long periods.
Yes. They're designed to stay on through both, so bottles, lunchboxes and school clothes can go in as normal.
Every QR label carries a short human-readable code – 8 characters, in an alphabet chosen to avoid the letters people misread. The finder just enters it at returnmeplz.com/r and reaches the same page they'd have reached by scanning.
Once a label is stuck on, it stays put. The adhesive is made to hold, so labels can't be peeled off and reused. You can still change the item's name and details any time from your account, for example if you named it wrong when you activated it.
You'll get an email as soon as they message you. From there, we guide you both through getting it back, step by step: meeting up, sending it by post, or leaving it somewhere safe for you to collect. The important steps are confirmed by both of you, and if you choose post, you decide whether to share your address.
If a step is waiting on someone, we send a friendly reminder, so the item doesn't get stuck on its way home.

We ask for your email so the owner's replies can reach you. They'll never see it: your messages go through ReturnMePlz, so your address stays private.
